Workshop 1 - Draw It!

Rose Seidler House Final Drawing
This is the final representation of Rose Seidler House by Harry Seidler. It includes:

-2 Plans (Ground and 1st Floors)
          -4 Elevations
          -1 Section
-1 Hand Sketched Drawing of the Façade

Workshop 2 - Model It!

Barcelona Pavilion Model

Wall and roof are cut from travertine and plain tile

The Barcelona Pavilion was a great first model, although unfortunately built in 1:100 it helped to greatly understand the building, especially the internal space.

Some of the model walls are built from the same travertine tile as the walls are constructed of in the building.  The beautiful light stone is both textured and patterned. The roof over the main building is cut short to expose some internal features and is also cut from tile.

Fisher House Landscape 1:200

Fisher House cut from balsa, contours mapped from site plan. Used real twigs and staggered supports for higher end of model.

Fisher House 1:50 Detail Model

1:50 detail model of fisher house including internals, windows, doors and rooms. Cut from box board. Also a great way to understand the make up of the house, namely internal spaces.

Workshop 3 - Montage It!

Final Montage Poster - Design Facility for Gianandrea Fabbro
Poster of the Ducati design centre. Upstairs is the presentation area, level 2 is the design studio and the workshop space is located on ground level with rear access.

 Initial Draft Montage
Top 3 Images are of the submissions including 1 Exterior Day, 1 Exterior evening and 1 Image looking through the architecture. The building modelled is a design for Ducati's chief designer for the 1199 Panigale Superbike, Gianandrea Fabbro. The photo directly above is the draft due in one of the previous weeks for an initial Photoshop experiment.

The initial concepts, on the right the original design, scrapped despite the creativity for a more practical use of very limited space for a space intensive procedure. This design maximised space across 3 floors rather than 2 and allowed for all aspects of the design spectrum from sketching through construction to presentation.

The original design however is more interesting and creative in form.

Approaching final designs, model was then translated from sketch up to material.

Above are 3 Images of the model built for the montage from balsa and clear card. Bottom photo depicts the background used partially to create the twilight effect in the exterior twilight photo.
